The Bobblehead You Never Knew You've Always Wanted

Halloween is just around the corner, and this year I am feeling somewhat in the festive mood -mostly due to recent sampling of an array of pumpkin ale, and Bewitching 8 at Stranger Factory. I’ve never really created seasonally themed art before, but with Fey Folk having taken off pretty strong, and an idea that I’ve been pretty excited about, plus a Halloween themed show, this was a good year to start!

Fey Folk: Five, that’s right five, new additions to this collection will be debuting at Bewitching. Pretty soon you’ll be able to add the Bugbear, the Hobgoblin, the Bogey, and a couple of Imps to your collection! Each one will be in an edition of 50 and prices will range from $60-$125. There’s even a couple new scales in this release! If you’re interested in seeing the finished pieces, check out the Fey Folk section of the site, or visit me on Instagram @weston.brownlee

The Horseman: Here’s the real reason for this post! Pretty much all my life, I’ve loved the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I remember the Disney version, but even better I remember reading Irving’s short story at a pretty young age. The Headless Horseman is without a doubt one of the coolest ghosts, and most intriguing ghost stories I’ve ever heard.
Bobbleheads are always something I’ve enjoyed, even though I don’t really collect them. As the work I produce has expanded further into the type of subject matter I now spend most of my time on, creating bobbleheads is always something I’ve wanted to do. I was completely shocked to find that, at least as far as I can tell, no one has created a headless horseman bobblehead! I’ve seen it mentioned here and there as a joke, but the composition always felt obvious to me. Now, exclusively for Bewitching 8, I’m releasing my first ever bobble head, and my favorite ghost, as a very limited edition of 10. The best part? The jack o’lantern lights up! In my opinion, it’s a detail that really makes the piece, and really makes it a must have.

If you’re interested in purchasing one, contact Stranger Factory in Albuquerque, New Mexico starting October 5th.
